Die Kollektion Von Träumen und anderem ist eine Mischung aus Momenten im Hier und Jetzt und eher unfassbaren, wie in Träumen. Es geht darum zu zeigen, wie die Grenzen zwischen diesen zwei verschiedenen Realitäten in Zeiten wichtiger Veränderungen in unserem Leben miteinander verschmelzen. Wir beginnen unsere Wahrnehmung in Frage zu stellen: was ist wirklich und was nicht?
Francesca Sganzerlas Bilder sind stark und eigenständig – eine Mischung aus Ordnung und Freiraum. Jedes Ihrer Werk birgt einen Moment, eine Stimmung aus einem Winkel dieser Erde.
„Meine Bilder sind archivierte Erinnerungen, eingefangene Momente und Stimmungen auf Leinwand. Sie sind emotionale Eindrücke – im Laufe der Zeit, Schicht über Schicht – ein Versuch den Zustand der Dinge festzuhalten“.
In Italien geboren, Sganzerla hat in Nigeria, Norwegen, Vietnam, Ägypten, USA und Mexiko gelebt. Seit 2002 wohnt und arbeitet sie in Zürich, wo sie ein eigenes Atelier hat. Seit 2000 nahm die Künstlerin kontinuierlich an Ausstellungen und Wettbewerben teil.
Ihr aktuelles Projekt ist eine permanente Installation in der Arsenale di Venezia, welche im Rahmen der 52. Kunst Biennale di Venezia zu sehen sein wird.
The exhibition Of Dreams and Other is inspired by a mix of actual moments in life with more elusive ones such as in dreams. The aim is to combine these two realities that at certain moments of life come closer together: the gap between them shortens, forcing us to question our perception of what we call real and unreal.
Francesca Sganzerla’s work is a memory archive of atmospheres and feelings, similar to walls on which the sign and traces of stories have build up. Through the chromatic choice, the scratched technique and the layers of texture, there is a wish to bring about a sense of quietness and at the same time of movement and constant flow.
„In my work I strive to convey a dimension of time, of the changes and migrations of life, seen as emotional imprints of passages of time, layers of texture seeking to retain the state of things“.
Born in Italy, Sganzerla grew up in Nigeria, Norway, Vietnam, Egypt, United States and Mexico. Self-taught, she gathered a wide and varied range of influences from cultures in these changing countries. Since 2002 she lives and works in Zurich, where she has her atelier. Sganzerla has maintained a constant exhibition schedule since 2000. Her current project is a permanent art installation in the Arsenale of Venice which will be presented in the context of the Art Biennale of Venice 2007.
